On Sunday the 22nd of November 2015, I went to my uncle Mathew Burbidge for an interview session.
Below are some behind the scenes pictures of me setting up the interview. Assisting me with the interview session was my grandmother (Mathew Burbidges' mother), whom is able more easily translate what my uncle says. At most times she very kindly simplified the questions I was asking, so my uncle could more easily understand and thus effectively answer the questions. I also asked Mathew Burbidge for permission to film him around the house, which he kindly accepted. I filmed him making tea and talking to his mother, as well as filling in some schedules for his work time table. This would give a positive representation of how Mathew Burbidge is able to do all normal things any other person does. At around 11:15, we had to leave, due to session at 'Hope and Nature centre' being scheduled for sometime after 12:00 pm. Later my grandmother and I went to the 'Hope and Nature Centre'. I went to the cafeteria area and asked a member of staff for permission to speak with Debbie Martindale, whom kindly was available and met with me. Debbie and myself sat at a table and discussed what I could do. She stated I was allowed to film the market area and of course I would need to ask people permission if I were to want to film them. She also stated a trustee named Joe Burbidge would be happy for an interview. Luckily Debbie managed to find her and Joe and I set the interview up at a table area where there were not any people. Thus being quiet. Joe Burbidge very effectively answered the questions, stating her role as a trustee being in looking out for special needs adults. She also gave a brief opinion on how the UK is effective in supplementing disabled peoples needs. She also gave a detailed description of what her job entailed in ensuring peoples needs were met, gave examples, what they could not always supply and reasons for why too. Shortly after, I gave her a talent release form which she very kindly signed. |
